Patti Tamara Lenard’s research focuses on the moral questions raised by migration across borders, as well as on multiculturalism, trust and social cohesion, and democratic theory more generally. She is particularly interested in the ways in which movement across borders, especially for asylum seekers, is made more difficult by extra-territorial border control measures; by the ways in which states are acting to limit mobility rights for all citizens, in the name of protecting them from terror; and by the possibilities for exporting private sponsorship regimes abroad as a way to increase resettlement opportunities for refugees.
