Building on a core group of multidisciplinary researchers at the University of Victoria (UVic) and other institutes across Canada a vibrant nation-wide scholarly network addressed issues related to borders, migration and refugees in a regular series of knowledge dissemination initiatives. One of them, the Media Alert Service,  targeted public stakeholders and civil society organizations by promoting the knowledge of European integration through the lens of migration and border studies in Canada.
