
Laursen, Finn
Finn Laursen is Honorary Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, where he was a professor of International Politics, 1999-2006. He held the Canada Research Chair in European Union (EU) Studies at the Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada, 2006-2013. At Dalhousie University, he also directed the EU Centre of Excellence (EUCE). Since 2007, he holds a Jean Monnet Chair ad personam. In recent years, his research has focused upon European integration, especially the making and reforms of the EU’s constitutive and reform treaties as well as successive enlargements of the EU and the role played by the EU in the global system. He has also done comparative research on regional integration, including, NAFTA, MERCOSUR and ASEAN. His current research is focused on the EU’s trade policy, including the negotiations with the United States of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Currently he is also teaching at Aarhus University and working as a Senior Editor of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics (OREP), being responsible for EU Politics and Comparative Regional Integration.
