Great opportunity for students at the University of Victoria: Europe Memory Politics Study Tour 2023
Explore how modern history and memory of the Holocaust is commemorated and politically utilized in European countries; participate in experiential learning by visiting sites of memory (former concentration, death camps, museums etc); engage with scholars, activists, discuss strategies for memorializing genocides; participate in an international conference on memory politics in Budapest; connect with other students in Europe.
May 29- June 21 2023 First week classes at UVIC and 3 weeks Europe:
Vienna (AT), Budapest (HU), Kraków, Oświęcim (PL), and Trieste (IT).
Total costs CAD 5000 (including flights) – funding for most of the expenses will be available .
